ABSTRACT

The presence of managers in Hispanic/LatinX media in the United States has historically been an issue of controversy. Research shows that Hispanics/Latinos are the fastest growing population in the United States and that they are 17% of the total U.S. population today. However, are representatives from this diverse group making decisions in media production houses, the film industry, journalism, and other forms of media? Who are the decision makers behind the scenes and how does this impact the product delivered to the masses? This chapter discusses Hispanic/LatinX representation in executive positions and compares it to how that section of the U.S. population continues to grow daily by the thousands.
