ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the experiences of cis women partnering trans people against the backdrop of heterosexual social organisation. I concentrate on mechanisms that silence women partners’ position, identity and gender work in supporting and caring for their significant others before, during and after transition, and the impacts of that silencing on understanding of the identities and experiences of trans people.
