ABSTRACT

Blockchain can be defined as a chain of the block that contains processed data. A blockchain is a ledger or a record of a transaction. It can be thought of as a chain or records stored in the forms of blocks which are controlled by no single authority. Blockchain is basically an idea used to keep the data in the form of encrypted block. This chapter presents an overview of the blockchain standards and blockchain protocols like Hyperledger Fabric, Symbiont, R3Corda, blockchain, Ripple and Ethereum. Moreover, the chapter analyzes consensus protocols and their characteristics.
