ABSTRACT
When we unexpectedly see someone we know, we inhale, as if we're breathing in the impression we get from the person and maybe even the person himself. On breathing in objects, people, and phenomena: the same things as with lines don't breathe them in formally; breathe in what the object or person holds for one at the moment. One of the ways to achieve diaphragmatic breathing is the method that learned about from Pyatnitsky: while speaking some monologue or verse, one follow not so much the words and their meaning, but rather make sure that one's stomach rises and deflates; and he recommended not breathing in until one're entirely out of breath. In order for an actor to practically understand that in life he is also psychologically breathing in, holding his breath, and breathing out, one often use a simple method: ask him the most common, mundane questions about his day.
