ABSTRACT

There is something exhilarating about film-making because although the technique differs so much from the stage it has an intimate magic of its own. Unlike a play, in which you can grow into the part during rehearsals, in a film your reactions and emotions must be instantaneous. You must be precise and economical in your expressions remembering that fleeting changes of light and shade on the features are visible to everyone and not merely to the first row of the stalls.
