ABSTRACT

Business Process Management (BPM) has evolved as one of the most important management capabilities today. Also in Business Transformation Management (BTM) plays an essential role as an enabling factor for successful business transformations. At the business process level, organizations are exploring a wide variety of new approaches to process analysis and redesign that intend to support the enterprise wide strategy leveraging both technical and human resources on the implementation level to support process work. A process maturity analysis places the maturity level of a company's processes along a scale tailored to its business process requirements. The approach accounts for the context dependency of BPM. The Event-driven Process Chain (EPC) is among the most commonly used languages in BPM projects. A potential model covers relevant design alternatives to be compared with each other in terms of their value proposition in a specific organizational situation.
