ABSTRACT

“Camava’s future expectation” defines five future-oriented scenarios that help to understand what could happen in the region and the country in the next decades. The first one is a trending scenario that shows a region where the infrastructure continues to deteriorate and the government keeps fragmenting. The second scenario explains how climate change could affect Camava, while the third one projects into the future the demographic development of the region and how it would change its configuration. The last two are optimistic scenarios. One explains how the coordination of the different components of the society could be key to build a better future, while the other shows a consolidated urban region that is developing a more sustainable future. At the end, these possibilities will be useful to understand some of the trends that could define the future of these kinds of regions in the Global South.
