ABSTRACT
In the previous two chapters, the history of efforts to manage two different types of chemicals was discussed. One type was represented by synthetic chemicals used as food additives and the other by a naturally occurring material used in a variety of products, especially building materials. In this chapter, a slightly different type of compound will be discussed: formaldehyde.
