Case law is created on a daily basis by all levels of the court system. Generally, larger states produce more case law because there are more cases. Although the executive and legislative branches "make" the laws and regulations, it is the judicial branch that interprets and applies the laws and regulations, Through the numerous and varied cases hear before the courts, case law has developed doctrines that provides guidance as to the application of a particular law or regulation.
