ABSTRACT
My reaction to Vanetti’s article has a practitioner’s perspective. Although I was an academic for more than 15 years, my recent experiences have been in the field, engaging in consultation and intervention. My points are made, therefore, from the perspective of one who has had both the felt experience of successful change, that is, adoption of innovative management research ideas; and the frustration of nonadoption-failures or nonstarts in intervention efforts.
