ABSTRACT

A challenging task in systems biology and bioinformatics is the estimation of regulatory interactions among the genes involved in a particular pathway using the data formed by high-throughout assays. In the recent years, several methods have been introduced to address this problem. More advanced family of methods dealing with this problem will be discussed in Chapter 9. In this chapter, we intend to focus on the simplest yet the most fundamental approach in addressing this issue, which is the use of binary networks.
