The technological backwardness and stagnation of Bangladesh, inherited from the past as outlined in the last section, continues to be reproduced by the existing class structure. For technological dynamism arises only to the extent that there exists a powerful class which has a vested interest in transforming the technological basis of a society. Such a class, or group, is still lacking, or at best exiguous, in Bangladesh.
