ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a variety of forms that can be customized to meet a school or school system's needs. It presents two forms, one for classroom teachers and the other for resource/specialty area teachers. The Performance Assessment Rubric (PAR) assists the teacher and the evaluator in job performance based on the domains and performance standards. For the teacher, the PAR offers a means to reflect on current performance compared to either past or desired performance levels to indicate growth or to inform decision making on how to reach the next level. Student performance measures are an important information data source for assessing teacher performance. Appropriate measures of student learning gains differ substantially based on the grade level, content area, and ability level of students. In addition, school administrators may conduct schoolwide reviews of test data to identify patterns in the instructional program.
