ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with broad-brush questions about the relationship between clinical knowledge and its social origins. Overt examples are by the very nature of social construction not easy to see in brief vignettes, but to give some background to that discussion we start with examples where social and organizational context seemed to be shaping knowledge-in-practice-in-context.
