ABSTRACT

Greater love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Ethics, the moral expression of integrity, trustworthiness, empathy, and understanding, is decision making for the greater good of the individual, society, and mankind. Protective services require integrity (strict personal honesty and all the components of character), trustworthiness, and human interaction. Ethics are about how people’s actions, traditions, and beliefs create certain situations and how conicts are resolved. Personal protection and ethics are about people. The incorporation of the study of ethics as part of life prepares us to come to grips with problems of living in a social, security-concerned environment.
