ABSTRACT
Of all the issues the playworker has to deal with, safety is one of the most contentious. Parents are fearful that their offspring will skin their knees, bang their heads or even break a bone. Whilst real accidents bring accusations of negligence and threats of litigation, and leave local authority officers, and those from voluntary agencies alike, with the blood draining from their faces at the thought of the huge figures involved.
