ABSTRACT

This chapter charts the coming together of a community of practice with a common interest in learning how to coach. There is a case study of how learning together as coaches is not always a generative experience. It illustrates parallel processes and projection. There is a focused piece on coming to terms with inaccurate negative self-perceptions that have the power to discourage and de-rail. There is also a coaching case study that identifies how a lack of commitment to the client’s agenda results in poor outcomes for both parties.
