ABSTRACT
Technology is defined as “the practical application of knowledge especially in a particular area”; “a capability given by the practical application of knowledge”; “a manner of accomplishing a task especially using technical processes, methods, or knowledge”; or the “specialized aspects of a particular field of endeavor” (Merriam-Webster, 2012b). Another perspective of technology is stated as follows:
These definitions and insights allude to the notion that technology embellishes human existence beneficially. Technologies permeate modern lifestyles in a variety of ways-washing machines, traffic signals, cellular phones, computers, cranes and roadway equipment, trains, airplanes, ships, x-ray machines, blood analysis machines, television, radio, and practically an innumerable array of other examples. Each day, within the societies of most developed countries, modern technology influences practically everyone in some capacity whether from merely listening to a radio or viewing air traffic control monitor screens.
