ABSTRACT
This chapter covers a range of aspects that mix the theoretical underpinning of event management with applied learning from the field of community sport. The value that events can hold for local sporting organisations can be crucial to their survival and be a part of a club’s annual activity. The elements covered here will give insight into the processes involved in event management, offering suggestions for additional structure and tools to be utilised within the planning and delivery of community sport events.
