ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we sum up the participatory economics model and its values and institutions, and recap the goals and challenges for an accounting system based on the participatory economics model. We list the most important accounting issues that such an accounting system would have to address and that we have addressed in this book. We end by discussing some of the objections often raised against the feasibility of the implementation of participatory economics and the role a detailed description of an accounting system, such as the one presented in this book, should, and should not, have in the context of exploring a future alternative society.
