This conclusion chapter considers how the various studies collected in this anthology reveal professional wrestling as a popular culture text that offers valuable insight into the disparate genres, media storytelling modes, and fan activities that converge inside the squared circle. The chapter provides brief overviews of each essay and discusses how they function as a useful primer that hopefully offers scholars and students just starting to study both fields a foundation for their own inquiries. It also offers some potential future directions for research by considering how the theoretical lens of convergence could be used to study other areas of both professional wrestling and other areas of popular culture and society at large.
