ABSTRACT
In chapter 8, I return to my two main goals for Aboutness: to empirically analyze writing center talk at the micro-and macrolevels in order to determine its aboutness and to discuss how corpus-driven analysis combined with discourse analysis robustly reveals the aboutness of writing center talk. Chapter 8 first synthesizes the findings of this study, delineating five characteristics of the specialized corpus that emerged and then discusses other results that reveal the benefits of combining corpus analysis with discourse analysis. The chapter and the book conclude with the limitations of this study and my plans for further research.
