ABSTRACT
Every school should be aiming at improvement. Schools do not stand still. Some are improving, some are declining and some are just cruising, with everyone feeling satisfied with past performance. Governors should be concerned to see that their school is concerned to improve. No matter how good it is at present there are always areas for improvement and one measure of the effectiveness of a governing body is the contribution it makes to helping the school to improve.
