ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book highlights a varying distance between the United Nations (UN) Security Council's exercise of authority and individuals yields a paradox. It presents the UN Security Council and its subsidiary organs have been, in a varying degree, reducing their distance from individuals for the purpose of the maintenance of international peace and security. The UN Charter is apparently not well-equipped in catching up with some of the drawbacks of such transitions, especially in terms of safeguarding the rights and interests of individuals affected by the exercise of international authority. The book illustrates the UN Security Council will not be immune from constant critical feedback from affected individuals whose claims may be accompanied by parallel challenges from governmental constituencies.
