ABSTRACT

This chapter summarizes the arguments and perspectives in the book. It provides a tentative conclusion while also mapping what the future might hold for the end of AIDS narrative. Furthermore, the conclusion argues that the end of AIDS and narratives of ‘post-AIDS’ belies the many paradoxes and still ongoing issues that haunt any clear notion that the HIV epidemic has or will ‘be ended’ any time soon. As such, the chapter discusses and ties together many of the perspectives that have been taken up in the previous chapters while also mapping potential paths to what new directions the end of AIDS might take. Finally, it also discusses the notion of post-AIDS and what the post in post-AIDS can mean.
