ABSTRACT

It often happens that two parts of a text are connected in meaning. For instance, in a story, the events described in one sentence often follow the events described in the previous sentence. Sometimes this connection may be explicitly stated in the text; or it may be implicit and left for the reader to figure out. Compare these two examples:
