ABSTRACT
In order to investigate the change of particle configuration of a granular assembly during deformation, we propose a new method of statistical analysis of tensors and define two scalars, which characterize size and anisotropy of a loop in the particle graph of the assembly. Applying the method to a computer simulation analysis of biaxial compression test, an interesting property on change of the particle graph during deformation is obtained.
