ABSTRACT
The foundation of traditional African cosmologies is a spiritual view and experience of life. This view undergirds traditional understanding of being, existence, and the phenomenal world. This spirit world consists of the Supreme Being, the deities or divinities, ancestors, various spirit powers, the human being and nature. This is particularly the case in West Africa, which forms the focus of this article, especially the Akan and Ewe ethnic groups of Ghana.
