ABSTRACT

Before the 1990 elections, GOPAC (“The National Grass-Roots Organization Building Republican Leaders for America’s Future,”) sent out a list of 134 buzzwords for Republican candidates to use in campaign speeches. Like faulty Pintos, two of the words—”traitor” and “betray”—had to be recalled, and rightly so, since GOPAC chairman Howard “Bo” Calloway pointed out that these terms “could be used in a context that would question the motives or patriotism of an opponent.” Bo knows prose.
