ABSTRACT
It is widely argued in pro-feminist sport sociology that contemporary sport remains one of the primary sites of maintaining the historical pattern of male dominance and female subordination. Whilst there are several interrelated methods of maintaining this pattern in the contemporary sporting world, these methods may be collected together within two broad categories.
