ABSTRACT
Creativity is viewed as the process of developing original ideas that have value. Although inclusion and creativity may seem, on the face of it, to be unrelated goals, this chapter will explore the role of nurturing students' creativity in promoting inclusive education. If education equally prioritised, taught, and encouraged creativity, more students might learn to develop and value their creative capacity without sacrificing engagement and achievement. It has been learnt that accepting and encouraging students' individuality and creativity is just as much about social inclusion as it is about engagement and learning; they work hand in hand. Teaching for creativity involves using pedagogies that foster, support, and develop young people's imagination and creativity. It promotes an inclusive pedagogical approach through a focus on student agency, and a collaborative or co-participative approach where students and teachers negotiate the 'what' and 'how' of learning and assessment.
