ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we venture from the connes of the consultation room moving from the domestic to the global to examine where psychopathology and cross culture meet within the context of the borderline personality. is chapter presents many challenges. e main one is to determine if there is such an entity as a cultural borderline. To do so, I feel obligated to provide some background material; otherwise our delineation will appear as wild speculation and stereotypical assessment. is brings up the question, do we have the right to diagnose and analyze an entire group of people and put them into a category, let alone on a foreign analyst’s couch?
