It was a strange twist of fate that a visit to an all-night bookstore late one evening would forever change the way I performed psychotherapy, though hardly in the direction I originally anticipated . While perusing the psychology section, I came across and purchased Jay Haley’s 1973 edition of Uncommon Therapy: The Psychiatric Techniques of Milton H. Erickson, M.D.
