This chapter deals with the analysis of data that comes from Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Sometimes this is called Big Data Analysis as the data that IoT derives is big in all three of the Vs (velocity, volume, and variety). The analysis of the data that is transmitted and remotely stored is possible using a number of techniques and algorithms developed specifically for dealing with enormous, disparate, and frequently unstructured data, generally termed “Big Data.” This downstream analysis of collected and stored IoT data is a powerful benefit to developing smart IoT devices and new applications for integrating that data with other sources of information. Working with common data mining applications and research data that are similar to IoT data, researchers have derived interesting and useful patterns and relationships. They used data from e-commerce, industry, healthcare, and city governance applications and employed commonly available data mining software to study this data.
