ABSTRACT

How have contemporary practices using three-dimensional digital modeling allowed

individuals (including architects and urban dwellers) to view their city in ways that

“flat,” two-dimensional street maps have not? During recent years, advances in

technology have allowed for greater use of digital media for developing such repre-

sentations. This chapter examines the role of these techniques, including data-driven

visualization as means of representing the “unacknowledged” features of the city.
