ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book covers key insights from the case study that shed light on important features of global governance. It explores what likely awaits the KP in the near future, illustrates the fluid and dynamic process of solution building and that success of the regulative mechanism is uncertain. The book draws the case study that are significant in understanding the workings of international campaigns, the roles of non-governmental organizations, and the growth of tripartite governance structures. The regulation of conflict diamonds is crucial given the fragile nature of many of the peace agreements in formerly conflict diamond affected areas. The book shows the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles that provide a meaningful explanation for what motivated industry to get involved in the Kimberley Process. Specifically, CSR practices provide a further opportunity for global campaigns.
