ABSTRACT

Knowledge transfers between organizations are key components driving an efficient development of innovation (Breschi & Lissoni, 2001). Business models that support and sustain such process of constant inflow and out-flow of knowledge for innovation gain wide attention (Chesbrough, 2003). Recent research on labor mobility and knowledge transfer showed the contribution by either new, or more skilled workers, to the development of innovative firm capabilities, as occurring essentially by means of transferring knowledge embodied in individuals (Song, Almeida, & Wu, 2003).
