ABSTRACT

The efficiency of an engineering system is dependent on the complex interplay between various parameters starting with conceptual design and extending to product conformity and predefined performance standards. The five doctrines to be followed in the design and development of a functional system to ensure its satisfactory performance are given in Figure 4.1. Deficiency and laxity in any of these critical stages will result in nonconformance of the product to stipulated performance standards.
