ABSTRACT
Acute.myocardial.infarction.(AMI),.commonly.known.as.heart.attack,.is.becoming.a.major.cause.of. death.all.over.the.world..The.term.myocardial infarction.is.derived.from.myocardium.(heart.muscle).and.infarction.(tissue.death)..The.phrase.“heart.attack”.is.used.to.refer.to.heart.problems.other. than.AMI,.such.as.unstable.angina.pectoris..Cardiac.diseases.are.an.important.cause.of.mortality. today..Earlier. it.was.thought. that. this.disease.affects.only.the.population.of.developed.countries. in.Europe.and.the.United.States..However,.recent.statistical.data.reveal.the.prevalence.of.cardiac. diseases.among.the.people.primarily.in.South.Asia.[1].
