ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 briefly describes the context of rural education and education equity in China, with an emphasis on aspects of the context that are salient to Teach For China. The author provides a narrative of Teach For China’s founding and evolution as well as an analysis of its mission and strategy. The chapter positions Teach For China within the education reform landscape of China and examines the organization’s strategy for policy entrepreneurship and advocacy network building.
