The general pattern for dialogue and mutual understanding is therefore quite consistent between discourses, which all agree on the importance of dialogue as a major medium to resolve conflict. Nevertheless, all secular discourses come into a strong consensus against the suggestion that the framework for freedom in a Muslim society should be determined by Islamic values. When the Liberal Left Discourse (LLD) points the finger at Kemalism as the source of oppressive behaviours against Muslims, its anti-Kemalism surpasses even that of the Islamic discourse (ID). The ID and the Kemalist Discourse (KD) join together in objecting to the idea that eastern countries are different from western countries, and thus should be governed according to their own model of democracy rather than a western model.
