ABSTRACT
The study of narrative has become a meeting ground and battle ground of the disciplines, and is fast become a discipline in its own right. Philosophers, historians, literary critics and theorists, structuralists and anti-or non-structuralists-not to mention preand post-structuralists-all approach the topic from different backgrounds and with different ends in view.
