ABSTRACT

The study’s results have permitted us to answer the questions associated with a variety of areas of inquiry. We found that occupational characteristics varied according to state, with New Jersey displaying more TSD-facility offenders and the other three states more generators. Frequently executives and owners of the firms/facilities were criminally charged, indicating management participation in or approval of offenses. When lower-level personnel were charged with offenses, these were committed for the benefit of the corporation and to ensure continued employment.
