First published in The Examiner, IX, 21 April 1816, pp. 247–50 under this heading in the section that appears from time to time reporting on the ‘High Life’; it is followed by a reprint of Byron’s ‘Fare Thee Well’ and an excerpt from his satiric ‘A Sketch from Private Life’, which Hunt hopes will show Byron’s essentially loving attitude towards his wife. Reprinted in Hunt, Literary, pp. 95–102.
