ABSTRACT

This chapter describes a method for drawing up a project plan such that everyone knows what is expected of him or her and the sponsor obtains what he wants. The project plan – a document that provides a detailed description of a project – plays a crucial role in this. The project plan is usually drawn up by the project manager. The future members of the project team, the organization in which the project is being carried out, and the outside world will need background information about the project. One way of doing this is including the information – the “project environment” – in the project plan. The project result description is derived from the goal and states the desired outcome(s) of the project. The document files should contain all of the project’s documents: anything relating directly to the objects and the desired outcomes.
