ABSTRACT
Incidence and prevalence estimates vary depending on the diagnostic criteria used and the population studied. However, the following can be stated:
• It is rare (prevalence about 1-2 per 1,000 women). The Epidemiological Catchment Area (ECA) study found only 11 cases in 20,000 persons studied.
