ABSTRACT
This entry focuses on delivery systems where a drug has been homogeneously dispersed in a polymer matrix, and divided into hydrophilic systems and hydrophobic systems. The latter class is subdivided into predominantly diffusion-controlled systems and predominantly polymer-hydrolysis-controlled systems.
