ABSTRACT
There exist three classes of contact lens materials. In each of these material classes there has been an extensive amount of research in the design of new materials with improved oxygen permeability. The main objective of this research is to design contact lens materials for extended wear applications. This entry reviews the currently available high oxygen permeable contact lens materials and their design.
