ABSTRACT
This entry provides an overview of rapid prototyping methods for biomaterial fabrication with the aim of illustrating the basic principles behind the scaffold-based tissue engineering. It describes aspects which must be taken into consideration when realizing a scaffold, such as the resolution time of manufacture ratio, materials employed, and scaffold geometrical design.
