ABSTRACT
Renewable energy (RE) resources have great potential to achieve various aspects of energy security, along with economic, social, and environmental benefits. However, business in the RE industry is not without difficulties and challenges. The overall objective of this entry is to identify the key aspects of the business structure in the RE industry. The areas that have been defined in this entry help to promote commercialization and diffusion of related technologies in this industry. The work also helps managers, investors, and policy makers to study different aspects of business in the RE industry. The goal is to identify and evaluate development drivers doing RE business from the chains of supply to end users with a focus on the core concepts of successful business in the energy industry: clean, cheap, and secure.
